Primary source: Metal salvage on seafloor
Metal salvage is scrap metal debris scattered on the Shallows seafloor. Each piece yields 4 Titanium when processed in the fabricator. No tool needed to collect — swim up and pick it up. Found most densely near wreckage and along the Shallows/Plateaus border. A single 5-minute collection loop yields 6-10 salvage pieces = 24-40 Titanium.
Secondary source: Scanning duplicate fragments
When you scan a fragment that you have already fully researched, the duplicate scan gives you Titanium. This is a passive source — you accumulate it naturally while exploring. Not a primary farming method but a nice bonus during exploration runs.
Titanium Ingot recipe
3 Titanium = 1 Titanium Ingot, crafted at the Processor (a base module unlocked via fragments). Titanium Ingots are used in advanced recipes like the Sonic Resonator (2 Titanium Ingots) and base reinforcements. Do not rush to make ingots early — raw titanium is more flexible for tools and base modules.
Titanium usage priority
Early game: tools (Scanner, Air Bladder, Survival Multitool), Habitat Builder, base compartment (2 Ti), hatch (1 Ti), lockers (1 Ti each), solar panels (2 Ti). Sonic Resonator: 2 Titanium Ingots = 6 Titanium. You will use 100+ titanium in your first few hours. Never stop collecting metal salvage.
Farming loop strategy
Best route: Start at your base in the Shallows → swim a 300m perimeter loop scanning the seabed → collect all metal salvage → return and process. Each loop takes about 5 minutes and yields 20-40 titanium. Dedicate one locker exclusively to titanium. Keep at least 20 titanium in storage at all times.
