Guide Steps
Primary source: Metal salvage
Metal salvage is the most efficient titanium source — each piece yields 4 titanium when processed in the fabricator. Found scattered on the seafloor in the Safe Shallows, often near wreckage and debris fields. Swim along the seabed and collect every piece you see.
Secondary source: Limestone outcrops
Limestone outcrops drop titanium about 60–65% of the time (copper is the other result). While copper is more valuable from limestone, the titanium you get while farming copper adds up quickly. Each outcrop gives 1 titanium when it doesn't give copper.
Farming loop for titanium
Best route: Start at your base → swim a 200m loop through Safe Shallows → collect all metal salvage → return and process in fabricator. Each loop takes about 5 minutes and yields 16–24 titanium (4–6 salvage pieces × 4 titanium each). This is far more efficient than farming limestone outcrops for titanium.
Titanium usage priority
Early game: tools (scanner, knife, fins, air tank), Habitat Builder, base compartment, hatch, lockers, solar panels. Mid game: vehicles, base expansion, reinforcements. You'll use 50–100+ titanium in your first few hours. Never stop collecting metal salvage.
Storage tip
Dedicate one locker exclusively to titanium. Keep at least 10 titanium in storage at all times. When you dip below 5, run a farming loop. Having titanium on hand means you can build or craft anything without interrupting your exploration flow.
