Primary source: Sandstone outcrops
Sandstone outcrops are smooth, reddish-brown rocks found in deeper areas (20–50m). Silver has about a 30–40% drop rate from sandstone (gold and lead are other possible drops). Each outcrop yields exactly 1 silver when it drops.
Best farming biome: Kelp Forest
Search along the Kelp Forest floor, especially near rock formations and small caves. Sandstone outcrops are often partially hidden among creepvine roots. The forest's 20–40m depth is ideal for sandstone spawns. Watch for stalkers while farming.
Second location: Grassy Plateau
The Grassy Plateau (recognizable by red grass and sandy terrain) has abundant sandstone outcrops. Depth is 50–80m, so you'll need upgraded oxygen. Sand sharks patrol here — farm quickly and stay alert. The openness makes outcrops easy to spot.
Cave entrances
Small cave openings in the Safe Shallows and Kelp Forest often contain sandstone outcrops near the entrance. These are safer than open-water farming and good for early silver runs. Bring a flashlight or Seaglide light.
What silver is used for
Wiring kit (2 silver) — needed for Habitat Builder, repair tool, and various electronics. Each wiring kit uses 2 silver, so farm 6+ silver for your first batch of essential equipment. Silver is also used in some advanced vehicle and tool upgrades.
