Guide Steps
Step 1: How Blackbox signals work
Pause menu to Signals to toggle Blackboxes on or off. Waypoint appears on HUD. No in-game map so navigate by compass bearing and landmarks.
Step 2: Anita's Blackbox (Shallows)
Approximately 160m N of Lifepod, approximately 20m deep. Next to Digestion Angel Comb. First signal you will receive. Leads to Welcome Center area.
Step 3: Wander's Blackbox (Shallows)
Approximately 220m W of Lifepod. Dive approximately 69m down cavern. Need Sonic Resonator to clear Biofilm blocking entrance. Look south inside.
Step 4: Chap's Blackbox (North Raceway)
Approximately 220m SE of Lifepod. Cave entrance at approximately 40m depth. Inside Quaker's Meetinghouse (Colonist Bunker) with BioBed (inventory upgrade!).
Step 5: Tuba's Blackbox (Plateaus)
Approximately 250m NE of Lifepod. Camp One west entrance. Press red button to flood room, swim up through west pipe approximately 35m.
Step 6: Plateaus cluster (Quaker, Wu, Mantis, Mogami)
Jelly Barrens region. Multiple Blackboxes clustered together. Leads to Bioreactor scan and early base upgrades.
Step 7: Ruby's Blackbox (Lead Zone)
Further into game. Ruby 2 in Observatory biome (endgame). Unlocks Karakorum region waypoints.
Step 8: Graveyard Blackboxes (11 total)
ZIP, GANZO, RASTER, ANDER, SEAN, Twinkle, ROWBOAT, GRAM, Eddy and more. All in Graveyard biome (0-266m). Need Heat Tolerance Adaptation.
Step 9: Power Plant and Root Canyon Blackboxes
Anita 2, Iso, Zip 2, Singh 4, Mel, Tuba 2. Endgame signals in Karakorum region.
