Guide Steps
Primary source: Graveyard biome
The Graveyard biome is past the Shallows and Plateaus, characterized by dark water and skeletal remains. Sulfur deposits appear as bright yellow crystalline formations on rock surfaces. Depth: 0-266m. The Graveyard is hot — ambient temperature damages you over time without Heat Tolerance Adaptation. Get this adaptation by consuming Angel Comb (found ~150m north of Lifepod).
Secondary source: Hot Cave (Graveyard Caves)
Deep within the Graveyard, the Hot Cave (88-401m depth) has high-density sulfur deposits. This area is extremely hot — Heat Tolerance Adaptation is mandatory. The cave walls are lined with sulfur crystals. Bring extra oxygen and a light source. This is a mid-game destination — do not attempt without upgraded oxygen and heat protection.
Heat management in the Graveyard
Without Heat Tolerance Adaptation, the Graveyard's ambient heat will damage you within seconds. To get the adaptation: swim ~150m north of the Lifepod to find Angel Comb flora. Consume the Angel Comb to gain Digestion Adaptation, which enables eating alien food safely. This also grants Heat Tolerance. After adaptation, you can explore hot biomes without taking damage.
What sulfur is used for
Repair Tool: 1 Sulfur (essential — fixes your base and equipment). Some Processor recipes also require Sulfur for advanced crafted components. You do not need much sulfur in the early game — 2-3 is sufficient for the Repair Tool and one backup.
Farming route for sulfur
Step 1: Consume Angel Comb (~150m N of Lifepod) for Heat Tolerance. Step 2: Head to the Graveyard biome with a Standard Air Tank and light source. Step 3: Look for bright yellow crystalline deposits on rocks and walls. Step 4: Collect 2-3 sulfur for early needs. Return later with better gear for larger hauls.
